What did whoever made this CABLE OF DEATH think was gonna happen when he/she plugged it in? “Oh, I get it: POWER. OVER ETHERNET!”

What a bad thing to happen to such a nice AP. Much flammable.
There ARE ways to make an indoor AP an outdoor AP.
This is NOT one of them.
Not that I recommend doing it, but:

Aerohive Networks is offering this free WLAN Troubleshooting and Design Guide authored by CWNE #4 David Coleman and CWNE #7 David Westcott. This is actually chapter 12 of the Certified Wireless Network Administrator Guide (CWNA).
We would recommend buying the CWNA Study Guide to anyone who interested in, or has the responsibility of managing, WLAN. Put it on your shelf next to your copy of “Microsoft Exchange for Dummies” 😬. Read a chapter a day and you’ll be amazed how much you’ll learn and come to understand about how wireless works.
Either way, take advantage of this free download and the generosity of Aerohive Networks. Way to go guys! 👍
Short and SWEET. Just the way I like it. Why wireless access points are not “WAP"s. They’re just "AP"s. — CHECK OUT http://banwaps.com

If you’re doing “Predictive Surveys” (really “Predictive Models”) then you owe it to yourself to survey your location and make sure your walls are what you think they are.
If someone is “designing” you a WLAN and they don’t take the time to gather as much real data from the deployment site - you more than likely not going to like the results.
Here`s the dirty little secret of 802.11ac “Waves“ 1 AND 2: You`ll most likely never see those Unicorn Gigabit speeds that are plastered on the side of every box of every 802.11ac access point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mas metal!
EVERYONE, Wi-Fi and METAL ARE NOT A GOOD MIX!
So, if you’re wondering why your hotel wi-fi sucks it’s probably because of this.
By the numbering scheme it looks like each of these is an individual AP broadcasting its own SSID. I can’t even imagine how bad the Wi-Fi is, and I don’t even want to think about having to manage all these individual access points! 😱

This lovely install (brought to you by the geniuses at BlackBox) was at a hospital complaining about the horrible, unusable Wi-Fi.
